Timothy A. Yap, Ph.D.

Dr. Timothy Yap is a medical oncologist, physician-scientist, and the Ransom Horne, Jr. Endowed Professor for Cancer Research at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He serves as Vice President and Head of Clinical Development in the Therapeutics Discovery Division, a biopharmaceutical drug discovery unit that integrates innovative drug development with clinical translation. Additionally, Dr. Yap is a Professor in the Department of Investigational Cancer Therapeutics, where he leads the design and execution of Phase 1/2 clinical trials and translational studies.

Dr. Yap holds deep expertise in early drug development and clinical translation, with a focus on the development of next-generation targeted therapies and immunotherapies. He currently serves as a scientific advisor to Pfizer and has previously served on scientific advisory boards for Merck, AstraZeneca, and others, providing strategic guidance to biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Yap received his M.B.B.S. and B.S. with first-class honors from Imperial College London and earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology from The Institute of Cancer Research.
