Patients with Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the U.S. and worldwide. In 2022, nearly 2.3 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer globally.
It is estimated that nearly 317,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in 2025. As a result, the lifetime risk of developing breast cancer for women in the U.S. is approximately 13 percent. Notably, men can also be diagnosed with breast cancer, but at a much lower rate. For men and women recently diagnosed with breast cancer, the diagnosis can carry much uncertainty.
However, the community of patients with breast cancer, caregivers, and survivors is strong. There are many resources to help both patients and caregivers deal with diagnosis and life with breast cancer. If you’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer, your physician is the best person to guide your treatment and care.
