Position Summary

This Spring 2023 Co-Op is an outstanding opportunity for a student to learn and grow professionally, while being instrumental in improving the forecasting of clinical trial materials and components to support clinical supply planning.  The individual will work with a team of drug development scientists and leaders to exploit synergies in drug development timelines by identifying key metrics in supply chain optimization activities. The individual will benefit by learning necessary skills in operations management and strategy while gaining broad exposure to the development and manufacturing activities within the pharmaceutical industry.

This position reports to the Director, Supply Chain Planning & Logistics and can be remote, hybrid, or located at our headquarters in New Haven, CT.


Principal Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Project Management:
    • Draw Process Flow diagrams, Critical Paths, and Gantt Charts
    • Conduct Decision Tree analysis through process capacity and throughput
  • Data and Decision Analytics-related work through:
    • Forecasting
    • Sensitivity Analysis
    • Data Mining
    • Modeling and Goal Programming


  • Academic background in supply chain, courses, activities, or methods
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • A strong Analytical and Curious Mindset
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the larger group.


Preference to a current junior/senior in an undergraduate program or a graduate program, majoring in one of the following fields: Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Research, Biomedical Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, or Engineering Management.
