Open Positions: Senior Manager, Corporate Communications

Position Summary

Arvinas is looking for a Senior Manager to help lead our communications efforts both externally and internally. We’re looking for someone with creative ideas and a keen eye for detail to serve as a strategic advisor to business partners across the company, and who has experience with a wide variety of business, culture, and change management communications. The role will report to the Associate Director, Corporate Communications, and will be a hybrid role comprised of remote work and occasional onsite work at Arvinas’ headquarters in New Haven, CT. Arvinas is a rapidly growing company, and thus the role and responsibilities of the Communications team will evolve in the coming years.

This position reports to the Associate Director, Communications and will be located at our headquarters in New Haven, CT. Hybrid work arrangements are available, with 3 – 4 days a week being remote based on work requirements and project needs.

Principal Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

Communications Strategy and Content

  • Support the execution of Arvinas’ overall communications strategy
  • Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics for continuous improvement, measured by qualitative and quantitative feedback
  • Ensure consistent and accurate representation of corporate vision and strategy is portrayed at every touch point inside and outside the organization
  • Create original content for press releases, social media posts, and other external communications
  • Utilize multiple platforms and technologies to achieve communications goals across all Arvinas channels, including a variety of traditional, digital, and social media tactics
  • Provide insight and incorporate best practices regarding new communication channels and technologies
  • Prioritize communications responsibilities

Internal Communications

  • Maintain company intranet and related content
  • Draft employee communications including company announcements, executive messages, news/feature stories
  • Utilize email software to distribute company-wide emails
  • Draft and distribute monthly employee newsletter
  • Identify unique and creative ways to inform, educate, and engage employees around areas important to their experience at Arvinas
  • Serve as communications committee liaison and facilitator for internal employee resource groups
  • Support the planning and execution of town halls and other significant company-wide employee events
  • Partner with internal partners and stakeholders as needed on communications initiatives
  • Conduct employee assessments and surveys to collect feedback as appropriate
  • Work closely with various business and functional leaders/teams to strengthen employee engagement and reinforce a strong corporate culture
  • Proactively monitor and assess quality and effectiveness of internal messaging by obtaining meaningful feedback from personnel at all levels of the organization

External Communications

  • Assist with external company announcements including communication efforts such as drafting press releases, key messages, media pitches, presentations, social media, and Q&A preparation
  • Help manage Arvinas’ social media channels including strategy, content, posting, metrics, and monitoring
  • Maintain corporate and investor relations materials, ensuring consistency with corporate strategy and narrative
  • Assist with maintaining Arvinas.com including content strategy and collaborating with internal and external partners to execute changes and updates
  • Collaborate with external agency partners to create communications content and meet objectives

Qualifications

  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • 8+ years’ experience in public relations and communications, with a strong background in external, internal, and digital communications
  • Experience with business and change management communications to employee audiences at multiple levels
  • Proven ability to think broadly and strategically, connecting communications work to company objectives and investor priorities, and to consider the implication of projects to others’ work
  • Strong collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills; strong interpersonal skills; a team-player
  • A self-starter with proven ability to take a project from idea to implementation
  • Willingness to think creatively and test new and unproven communications initiatives and channels to achieve communications objectives
  • Experience with biopharmaceutical companies of varying sizes and stages preferred
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple, competing priorities

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
