Position Summary

Join the exciting and growing Neuroscience and Platform teams at Arvinas in New Haven, CT. Arvinas is a pharmaceutical company focused on developing new small molecules – known as PROTAC® (PROteolysis TArgeting Chimeras) protein degraders – aimed at degrading disease-causing cellular proteins via proteolysis. Based on the innovative research conducted at Yale University by founder Craig Crews, Arvinas is translating natural protein degradation approaches into novel drugs for the treatment of cancer neurodegeneration and other diseases. This position will perform work the neuroscience induced-pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) group and in the Functional Area Support Team (FAST).

This position will be located at our headquarters in New Haven, CT.

Principal Responsibilities

In the iPSC group, the candidate will learn to generate induced-neurons (iNs) from patient-derived iPSCs, and the application of these cells to in vitro models of CNS disease. Training will be provided on multiple fronts including production, cryobanking, and Quality Control of iNs (high content image analysis, immunocytochemistry, & RNA profiling). The incumbent will have the opportunity to interface with members of multiple discovery teams while serving as the single point of contact for iN production, demand management, and inventory control.

The candidate will also be expected to independently analyze and communicate experimental data to team members, write up experimental procedures for colleagues, and provide thorough documentation using an electronic lab notebook.

  • Prior experience with cell culture desired, but not a pre-requisite

Education

  • BS with a concentration in biology, neurology, or scientific related field.
